Rosicrucians
Introduction
This cult, like all cults for that matter, is seriously flawed in two areas:
(1) They completely batter and mutilate the Deity of Christ to their own damnation.
(2) Their group teaches some heretical assumptions and blasphemous speculations concerning the Lord Jesus and what the Bible never once said about Him.
The Rosicrucians-which boasts to its audience that it is not a religion but a philosophy-claims to have its roots in ancient Egypt, dating back to the time of the Pharaohs: it is also rooted in Freemasonry and in Nazism.
This sect has been accused of the heresy that Jesus once belonged to the Essenes, with other members allegedly being Plato, Philo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Christopher Wren and possibly even Pope John XXIII.
While there is no evidence that the Lord or John the Baptist were ever involved directly or indirectly with this splinter group of Judaism, this nevertheless, doesn’t stop wild and unfounded statements to the contrary.
Peter Ruckman offers the following to this incredulous belief:
“Essenes forbad the use of the sword, but Jesus recommended it (Luke 22:36.) Essenes were strict Sabbatarians observing every title of the Sabbath, which Jesus did not (Mark 2:24, 3:2.) Essenes shunned all women (See John 4 and Luke 7-8) and would not eat anything cooked by anyone but their own crowd” (The Book of Matthew, pgs. 243, 244.)
Please see the following statements by Christian apologists about this cult:
“The entire structure is built upon a false foundation namely, another than the Christ of the Scriptures” (J.K. Van Baalen, The Chaos of the Cults.)
“…[It] is not only an eclectic theological system which mixes pagan mythology with Judaism and Christianity with traces of Hinduism and Buddhism throughout, but it is a system of thinking which seeks to synthesize the basic truths of all religions and absorb them into a master system” (W. Martin, The Kingdom of the Cults.)
“This book [‘The mystical life of Jesus’] is filled with similar extra-biblical ‘revelations,’ all in violent disagreement with what the Bible says. The book might more accurately be titled: The Mythical Life of Jesus” (E. Gruss.)
Brief
Edmund Gruss had the following to say about its dubious occultist past:
“There is much controversy and obscurity surrounding the early history of the Rosicrucians. It is taught that Christian Rosenkreuz (“Rosy Cross,” 1378-1484) was the founder…While many hold to the historicity of Christian Rosenkreuz, it is generally held that he was not a real person at all, but rather a legendary or symbolic character used for the mythical explanation of the Orde” (Cults and Occult, p.105.)
Today’s Rosicrucians are active in over 100 countries throughout the world: USA, Brazil, England, Japan, Niger and most of Western Europe.
Membership worldwide, according to their website: ‘Consists of thousands of men and women.’
It also enjoys tax-exempt status, for it is apparently a ‘non-profit organisation.’
Beliefs
Red: Rosicrucianism
Black: Traditional Christianity
Jesus was a Gentile (His apostles were too) and was born of ‘Gentile’ parents, through whose veins flowed Aryan blood.
The first problem with this heresy is the fact that the Bible is so very clear that Jesus would be born to a Jewish virgin (Is. 7:14); under the Jewish law (Gal. 4:4); from a Jewish tribe (Mic. 5:2); written about in a Jewish Book (Gen. 3:15.)
For those who need further reassurance of the fact that Jesus was born to Mary and only Mary, here it is:
“Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ” (Matt. 1:16.)
Feminine pronoun. This cannot refer to Joseph, only Mary. And Mary alone was the only human parent that Jesus had, and even with this Biblical and historical fact stated, there is still no reason to believe that Mary’s chromosomes would have been intertwined with Jesus.’ God was quite capable of creating man from nothing as He did with Adam, and as Jesus is the second Adam, perhaps God repeated this, just this time giving Him a mother?
Some will ask why then was He born of a woman? He was born of a woman for two reasons:
(1) To claim His messianic place as the Son of David [Ps.18:50; Is. 42:1.]
(2) To die for the sins of the world and to fully understand man’s daily struggle with sin (John 1:29; Heb. 4:15.)
The reader should also be reminded that the Scripture is 100% Jewish orientated.
Unfortunately, liberals and humanists can’t seem to understand that Jesus is the only exception to the history of mankind, for He was always God, and at the same time, always Man, when on the earth.
Jesus is not God, but an Archangel.
The one thing that all cults and false religions have in common is the sad reality that each of them slaps the Lord Jesus in the face, by refusing to bow the knee to Him, and allow Him His full deity (Phil. 2:9.)
The word of God is so clear that Jesus Christ is Lord of all, so please see what the apostles Paul and Peter wrote about this:
“…..Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen” (Rom. 9:5.)
“…..the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Pet. 1:1.)
And the Lord Jesus said of Himself: “For if ye believe not that I am he [meaning God Himself, see Ex. 3:14] ye shall die in your sins” (John 8:24.)
Because they deny Him His full deity, they struggle to understand His infinite knowledge and how he was able to speak different languages.
It is not only the cults who struggle to understand why Jesus was so advanced in spiritual matters, well before He began His ministry (Luke 2:47,48), but I am also sad to report that even conservative scholars fail to appreciate the Biblical God-Man doctrine that is so clearly presented in Scripture.
We must appreciate that when the world was created, out of absolutely nothing, Jesus just spoke it into action:
“Let there be light” (Gen. 1:3.)
So if the Lord could do this, why do certain people struggle to comprehend the actions and miracles He performed whilst on earth? I am sure that even a child could understand this!
Jesus did not die on the cross.
With such a wealth of material in the public domain about Jesus’ excruciating death and verses that affirm the fact that the Lord did indeed die on a Roman Cross, I find it amazing that religions still teach otherwise, and in the process discredit what little integrity they still have.
“And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst” (John 19:17,18.)
“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven” (Col. 1:20.)
He did not rise from the dead.
There is only one person who benefits from making such statements, and this, of course, would be the god of this world, Satan:
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” (2 Cor. 4:4.)
Please see the following Scriptures that clearly point to the fact that Jesus was literally raised from the dead, by the Triune God:
1) John 2:20, 21 – Jesus says He will raise up His own body after three days (God the Son)
2) Romans 8:11- the Spirit raised Jesus from the dead (Holy Spirit)
3) Galatians 1:1 – God the Father raised Him up (God the Father)
Jesus did not ascend to heaven after the forty days.
The Bible is very clear that 40 days after Jesus died, He ascended to Heaven and He will not return again until the rapture (1 Thess. 4:16.)
“And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight” (Acts 1:9.)
Jesus did not provide Atonement for the sins of the world.
The apostle Peter, who knew Jesus personally, said the following:
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12.)
The word salvation and atonement are synonymous with one another.
It should also be pointed out that had Jesus not been able to provide salvation for the world, why did 10 out of the twelve disciples (minus Judas Iscariot, and John the apostle) die horrific martyrdom deaths, when they needn’t have?
His later years, after His retirement, He performed secret missions with His apostles.
This rather banal statement would be amusing if it wasn’t so far-fetched. It also resembles the myth that Dan Brown has tried to cash in on, that Jesus went off with Mary to the south of France, to live ‘the good life.’ Again why did His apostles die for the gospel, if He was still alive in Europe?
Reincarnation is for all.
Many people in the east are coming to faith in Christ, while many people in the west are turning from Christianity and embracing false religions like this one.
One preacher said: “They hate it [cultists] they can’t escape it. This horrendous doctrine of continually and eternally coming back to earth again and again and again is just too much for some of these people. They desperately want to escape it, but can’t.”
Well, we have good news for these people, they can escape it. Turn to Jesus today and trust Him to save you.
Hebrews 9:27 dismisses reincarnation:
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
Only ignorant people believe the folly that reincarnation is possible (Matt. 14:2.)
Man goes on to become a god.
This satanic doctrine is also taught in Mormonism. But like all doctrines that the cults propagate and proclaim, a simple read of Scripture is quite sufficient to understand that man can never evolve into God.
The only way man can ever reach God is to put one’s faith in Jesus Christ alone:
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2.)
Conclusion
I hope this brief, but necessary article will help those who are trapped in it through fear and spiritual bondage, to break out and embrace the free gospel of Jesus Christ.
As it has been said before: “It costs you the sinner nothing to believe in Jesus, but it cost Jesus everything to give you eternal life.”
